Despite the promise of good weather, we were not to be blessed today. A few sunny spells were finally sent on their way by persistent rain which sadly brought our Summer Show to an early end.

A few classes were abandoned due to lack of interest and although we are incredibly lucky with the drainage on our showground, it was beginning to get a little slippery underfoot. A very Well Done to those stalwarts who refused to give in and soldiered on to the end. Again, we received compliments on our oganisational skills and thanks for an enjoyable day out.

Again, it is to be emphasised that the people who give up precious time to help on the day make a significant difference. Many thanks to all of those who stood in the pouring rain instead of blazing sunshine ensuring the day went smoothly.

Although not occuring on the day, it is with great sadness that we must report the loss of Flecks, Sue Charlton (WRC Chair) and her grandson Thomas Clark's pony. Flecks had been ill for a while and the hard decision to let him go was made this week. Thomas and Flecks were a regular sight at the Sponsored Rides over the previous few years and always raised a substantial amount for the given charity. Flecks will be sadly missed.
