RING ONE - Showjumping
commencing 9.30 am

Classes 3, 4 & 6 will be split into horses and ponies for result purposes if sufficient entries.

 

Class 1
9.30 am

Cross-pole Jumping.
Rider 12 and under never to have competed in an affiliated class or been placed 1st at 2’0” or above.  Jumps 1’6”-1’9”. Lead reins welcome - will be split if sufficient entries. Competitors in this class are not eligible for classes 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7. Timed in first round - no jump-off.

 

Class 2

Minimus.
Horse/pony/rider combination never to have competed in an affiliated class or placed 1st at 2’3” or above. Jumps up to 2’0”.Lead reins welcome - will be split if sufficient entries.

 

Class 3

Novice.

Horse/pony/rider combination never to have competed in an affiliated class or been placed 1st at 2’6” or higher (3 times) Jumps up to 2’3”.

 

Class 4

Intermediate.

Horse/pony/rider combination never to have been placed 1st at 2’9” or higher (3 times), Jumps up to 2’6”.

 

Class 5

Top Score.

Open to all. Jumps 2’3”-2’9”. Each jump has a score.  The higher the jump the higher the score. Riders have one minute to jump as many jumps as possible. Highest total score wins.

 

Class 6

Open.
Open to all horses/ponies who have not competed in classes 1 or 2. Jumps up to 3’.

 

Class 7

Puissance.

(Time permitting) (entries on the day - minimum of 6 entries) Jumps starting at 2’3”

 


RING TWO - Showing

All times are approximate but class will not start before the time stated.

Youngstock. (In Hand)
Open to 1, 2 and 3 year old mares, geldings and stallions. Stallions must not be handled by someone younger than 14 years on 1st Jan 2012.
Rosette for Best Yearling.

 

Class 9

Best Conditioned. (In Hand)

Open to all horses & ponies under 15 years of age - any height. Plaited & unplaited.

 

Class 10
10.30 am

Best Conditioned. (In Hand).

Open to all horses & ponies 15+ - any height. Plaited & unplaited.

 

Class 11
11.15 am

Coloured. (In Hand).

Open to Skewbald, Piebald, Appalossa, Dun, Palamino, Roan, Spots, Paints. Any height. Any age.

IN-HAND CHAMPIONSHIP
for winners of classes 8, 9, 10, 11, 15, 16, 17, 18, 24.

Ridden Veteran. For horses and ponies aged 15+ (born in or before 1997). No Lead Reins. May be split into 15-20 and 21+ if sufficient entries. Rosette to oldest veteran. Rider any age.

Riding Club Horse/Pony.

For any horse/pony that make good all rounders for Riding Club activities. Open to mares & geldings 4 years and over. Rider any age. Any suitable bit. Small jump included.

Open to all ex-racehorses. Must be registered with Wetherbys General Stud Book. Rider any age.

Lead Rein. Open to ponies not exceeding 12hh (122cm).  Open to mares & geldings 4 years & over. Rider must not have reached their 9th birthday on 1st Jan 2012. Competitors in this class are not eligible to enter any other classes off the lead rein.

Class 26

Beginners First Ridden.   Open to ponies up to 12.2hh (128cm).

Rider not to have reached their 11th birthday on 1st Jan 2012.

Pony/Rider combination never to have competed off Lead Rein before 1st Jan 2012. No cantering.

First Ridden.   Open to ponies not exceeding 13.2hh (137cm).

Open to mares & geldings 4 years & over. Rider not to have reached their 12th birthday on 1st Jan 2012. Will be required to canter in individual show only.

Dogs may jump no more than twice.

 

RULES

 

ENTRY IN ANY CLASS WILL BE DEEMED ACCEPTANCE OF THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:

 

The organisers cannot be responsible for the loss, damage or injury to any spectator, rider, horse or vehicle on the showground, howsoever caused.

The judges’ decision is final.

No galloping on the showground.

Hard hats with chin straps must be worn at all times whilst mounted and competitors must be suitably dressed (jodphurs, shirt, tie, jacket/sweatshirt and correct footwear).

Abuse, either verbal or physical by a competitor will result in the loss of places gained in ANY class. No monies will be refunded and in severe cases, the competitor will be asked to leave the showground.

Any spectator verbally or physically abusing an organiser or helper at any Ware Riding Club event could jeopardise results of any competitor they are accompanying. Persistent abuse will result in a request to leave the showground. Monies for any classes will NOT be refunded.

Any complaint must be made in writing to the Show Secretary within 30 minutes of the end of the class, together with a £10 deposit which will be forfeited if the complaint is not justified.

The organisers reserve the right to cancel or alter any classes and/or judges without prior notice.

Dogs must be kept on leads at all times.

The organisers have the right to eliminate any rider deemed guilty of bad horsemanship, including the misuse of whips and spurs.

No competitors are allowed to approach the timekeepers or judges during the show.

Entry fees cannot be refunded unless requested in writing before the date of the show, or on production of a Vet’s certificate.

Spurs are not allowed for children 16 and under.

Due to the early traffic chaos at the Amwell Roundabout Car Boot on a Sunday morning, if you intend to arrive at our Showground before 9.00 am, you may wish to use one of the following alternative routes: 

Southbound from Cambridge on the A10, take the Hertford A414 junction. 
On roundabout take second exit marked B1502 Gt. Amwell. **Take the first turning on the left (Hoe Lane).
Go to end of road. At T junction turn right.  Turn right at min-roundabout, past John Gilpin Pub and Garage on the right. 
WRC Showground entrance is 100 yards on the right.** 

Northbound from Cheshunt on the A10, go past the A414 Harlow exit and come off at the Hertford A414 junction.
On the roundabout take the first exit marked B1502 Gt. Amwell. Follow directions ** - ** above.

From Harlow on the A414 take the Stanstead Abbots exit.
Go through village and take the first turning on the right after the level crossing.
Follow this road (one fairly narrow bend!) to the T junction on small bridge. Turn right and you are on the A1170.
The WRC Showground entrance is 200 yards on the left.
